What parents are saying!

I highly recommend this school!  Ms. Rokina’s school has been a tremendously positive and nurturing experience for our daughter Naomi.  Naomi started when she was 3 and blossomed in so many ways right from the start and continues to grow, mentally and socially.  Just recently she read her first word and was so proud of herself!  Rokina's style of teaching combined with the purposeful environment has accelerated Naomi’s learning and skill development.  After the first few weeks, Naomi said “I love school!” As parents, we couldn’t be happier. We are truly grateful for the fun and positive experience Naomi is having and all that Ms. Rokina has done for our daughter.  I recommend her school with my full confidence and trust.

This has been a truly beautiful experience!

My daughter went to a Co-op pre-school before here with tons of kids and no real focus on learning. For me at the time this was just fine. The socialization and playing was great as I figured she has such a huge part of her life she will be in school focusing on scholastics. My daughter in the first week back to this school did not want to go. The timing could not have been more perfect as we found this school. I always heard about Montessori learning and heard it was incredible. But to be honest I really had no clue what it was all about. I kid you not, within the first 2 weeks of sending our daughter here she started coming home telling us the most unbelievable things. This was all learning through playing and doing “JOBS”! So I have to say learning this way has made our daughter thrive to new levels. We are so very pleased with the school and owner/teacher Ms. Rokina! She is amazing with the kids. So kind, patient, understanding and knows how to teach and instill good behavior. Not only has Ms. Rokina done an amazing job with teaching through Montessori but she has rounded out her program to include: gardening, yoga, art, cooking and much more. We can not say enough wonderful things about the school and Ms. Rokina. We highly recommend trying it out for yourself and seeing first hand what you think!!!

The school is amazing! I had three kids start Montessori at very early age. So when I moved to Pasadena from East Coast, I was looking for a true Montessori school. Despite there are many Montessori schools in this area, I had trouble finding one that really applies Montessori philosophy. Finally, a friend referred me to this one. I knew it was a true Montessori school at the first visit. My son (1.5 years then) felt home at his first visit as well.

He finally got in at 2.5 years when he met the age requirement. Now we have been here for two years and couldn't be happier. My son learned a ton at the school. There are a lot of hands on learnings. The kids planted flowers, they each had an egg and watched how a chick hatch, they learned eclipse, Picasso, etc.! I was so surprised when my 4-year old came home one day and talked about marsupials, a word that I have not learned as English is my second language.

It's a small family school but the beauty is they have so much flexibility. They took field trip to the mountains and beaches, or a zen garden. The teachers are so loving and caring. It is a hidden gem in Pasadena! If you are looking for a 2-5 school, this is really the place!

If you are looking for a calm, safe and nurturing environment where your child can expand and explore then you will love this school!  Our son loved this school so much that he often talks of going back to visit.  We loved that our son was always so happy and excited to go to school each day.  The teacher is wonderful. She really takes the time to get to know each child, and she helps all the children create great bonds of friendship with each other.  The children get hands on experience in gardening, cooking, art, music, and much more!  In the beautiful classroom our son developed a love of numbers, began to read, learned about geography and famous artists and most importantly strengthened his love of learning while developing a self confidence that has aided him greatly in his transition to kindergarten.   We are so happy to have had this experience here!

My daughter has been attending Ms. Rokina's school for a year now.  She really loves it.  We were at two preschools prior to this and while they had many good traits, it was a struggle to get her up and moving in the morning.  With Ms. Rokina's classroom she does not fight it and when I pick her up she says things regularly like "this is the best school ever" or "I love Ms. Rokina"!  It's hard to get her to leave. I am so happy she is developing a love for school and learning and that the first teacher she will likely remember is Ms. Rokina.

Some of the things I love are as follows:

The Peace Rug - If the children have a conflict they are encouraged to invite their friend to the peace rug to resolve it.  The children really take this seriously and feel empowered to own their emotions and resolve conflicts among one another, at such a young age.

The Montessori jobs - I love the advanced geography such as learning and studying all the continents as well as studying masters in art such as Picasso and Georgia O'Keefe.

Nature - The kids are outside a lot and they are learning about science through hands on planting and gardening, discovering bugs and also increasing their vocabulary by being introduced to scientific words.  Plus, it is just healthy for them to dig in the dirt, get some sunshine and hear birds chirping regularly.

Yoga - The kids are introduced to yoga and have a handle on the practice of yoga which is so beneficial to ones well being and physical and mental state.

Ms. Rokina -  she is gentle, kind, calm, intelligent yet has high standards for behavior in her classroom.

In my opinion, it is a great place to send your child before they are put into a big kindergarten classroom.  The setting is intimate yet professional, clean, safe and stimulating.  It fosters a love of learning and has built strong friendships.
